Childhood social withdrawal, a common psychological and behavioral disorder during development, not only impairs children’s current social functioning but also serves as a potential risk factor for long-term internalizing problems (e.g., anxiety and depression). However, the construction of a systematic theory-based psychological nursing pathway in nursing settings remains to be explored. Grounded in the relational perspective of attachment theory, this paper analyzes the mechanism of emotional security deficiency underlying childhood social withdrawal behaviors and develops a psychological nursing intervention pathway suitable for clinical and community nursing contexts. Centered on the core mechanisms of "secure base" and "safe haven", this pathway derives four core strategies: emotional validation, social skill modeling, progressive exposure, and therapeutic nurse-patient relationship building. It also emphasizes the necessity of professional capacity building for nurses and multidisciplinary collaboration during implementation. This paper aims to provide a localized intervention framework based on attachment theory for childhood psychological nursing practice, so as to expand the professional role and function of nurses in promoting children’s mental health.
