Computer networks, as a core course for computer science majors, have long faced challenges such as abstract theoretical content, a disconnect between practical teaching and industry needs, and insufficient student motivation. This paper, based on the "Wangong Class" small class teaching model, proposes a teaching reform plan oriented around "Digital Empowerment" and "Industry-Education Integration." The specific reform measures include: reshaping students' professional cognition to guide their learning motivation; restructuring the curriculum system with "layered progression and integration of theory and practice" through industry-education integration; innovating a "scenario-driven, digitally empowered" blended teaching method; and establishing a "process-oriented, multi-dimensional evaluation" assessment mechanism. Additionally, the integration of ideological and political education elements has been fully explored. After two rounds of teaching practice, students in Wangong Class showed significant improvement in final exam scores, the ability to solve complex engineering problems, and learning engagement, validating the effectiveness and promotability of this model in core engineering courses. It provides practical references for small class teaching reforms in similar universities under the background of new engineering education.
